A truth unapplied, has no power in the life. But
a truth applied has force. One of the ingredients, of power, is force. Force times distance equals power. Truth is the backbone
from which power is hurled forward.
Yesterday at prayer breakfast you stated that truth is power. As I considered
this premise further, I realized that truth is not power; for power is not exercised until something is changed or an attempt
to change something is made. The application of truth is performed in power but it is the power of one’s life energy
focused in that direction. It is not truth itself that has power. There is a power that we have by existing and being recharged
by the food we eat for energy. Then, there is the power from God. If truth is not power, what is truth? There are absolute
truths. These truths are truths whether they are recognized as truths or not. And there are the truths as I label them in
my own mind. I have never known a perfect man who held no falsehood among his beliefs, the Lord Jesus being the only exception.
Therefore something I label as truth is false. But not perceiving with beliefs I hold as truths are false, I label them
all truths. Here the Bible assists me directly because it lists the truths of God. Even here, the churches interpretations
vary. To me, truth is what I perceive in my mind as a valid base on which to place my actions. Therefore truths are bases
or focal points that my mind can turn to and say “Ah, yes, here is a truth that applies in this application in my life.
